The 34 provincial-level units after the 1 July 2025 merger (Resolution 202/2025/QH15) with their former units. Used to normalise locations.

new_unit | Current provincial-level unit (from 1 July 2025). |
name_vi | Vietnamese name. |
type | Province or centrally governed city. |
admin_centre | Administrative centre. |
centre_in_former_unit | Former unit containing the centre. |
former_units | Former units merged into the new unit (semicolon-separated). |
n_former_units | Number of former units. |
area_km2 | Area, km2 (Resolution 202). |
population | Population (Resolution 202). |
res202_clause | Clause of Resolution 202/2025/QH15. |
notes | Free-text notes from the research agent and, where stated, the consolidation step. |
source_ids | Source IDs (see sources.csv) supporting the row, separated by semicolons. |
evidence_label | VN-direct (evidence about Vietnam), VN-adjacent (comparable country, transfer assumed) or general. |
confidence | High (primary source read), Medium (reputable secondary or primary read in part) or Low (single claim, press, company marketing). |
